Not all engines came with the
downtube as VW deleted this during the 70's, however your engine
may have been changed from it's original configuration. While
this style will fit engines whether or not they came with it
originally, you will have to modify your pulley tin to
accommodate the downtube hole if you did not have a downtube
before.
