notes:
These are new, not
rebuilt and do not have a core charge.
1973-1974 models which used the original AL78 alternator with
the three wire plug will require some rewiring to use this
alternator. Very straightforward to do, though.
On some models, depending on your engine and carb set-up, your
carb accelerator arm may hit the casing of this alternator. This
can be alleviated by running a spacer under your carb or doing
some grinding on the alternator housing to clear the arm.
This alternator will retrofit the
stock generator on all upright engines except 25/36hp 1200ccs. For
40hp conversions, we recommend getting our Alternator Conversion
Kit if you are converting from 6v. For 1300-1600cc engines, you
only need to replace the generator stand, strap, fuel pump, fuel
pump pushrod, fan belt, and generator pulley.
Some 1973 models came with generators while some later ones came
with AL78 alternators (on occasion some very early 1974 models did
the same). This alternator will retrofit both style on both years. |
