Starting
in 1968 new DOT regulations required additional side visibility
on all vehicles and every year these requirements became more
pronounced. As as result, many automotive manufacturers started
to install reflectors and sidemarkers on the side of their
vehicles. VW began using these trapezoidal-shaped reflectors on
the side of their taillight assemblies. VW used these reflectors
on both the smaller 1970 taillights and the larger 1971-1972
ones. These are an easy install as they just snap into the side
of the taillight assemblies. |
