Using double-thrust cam
bearings requires machine work done on the case.
Unfortunately while these bearings will work great with stock
cams, with some aftermarket cams (Engle in particular) there are
some fitting issues. Engle cams tend to be on the fat side of
the tolerance range and as a result if the cam bearings are on
the same side of the range then between the two you'll end up
outside of the acceptable range of clearance which can cause
fitting and binding issues. In these instances the cam thrust
bearing will need to be modified to work with the cam. This is
not a fault with the cam bearings, just an issue
with two items that are within the tolerance range separately
but not together. |
