VW used two different manufacturer's of distributors - Bosch and proprietary ones made by VW themselves for a short time in the 60's due to a labor dispute at Bosch. We only carry parts for the Bosch units as not much is available for the proprietary VW ones.
With so many distributors being used in Volkswagens, the only accurate way to get the correct components is to work off of the distributor's Bosch part number.  With the exception of the very early iron-housing distributors that had the old Bosch number on an ID tag riveted to the body, the part number is normally a 10-digit part etched into the housing and is usually facing the engine. Just click on the number of your distributor, and you'll be taken to a page listing the points, condenser, rotor, and cap for it.
