Will fit
all years, but it is only "correct" for the earlier
models. Many sites show the
bubbly shifter boot as starting in 1958 but the original parts
books we have claim repeatedly that the change didn't happen
until the 1961 model year. As for Buses, the parts books are
less exact. The late style is listed as being used back to the
start of production in 1950 but as it is a Beetle part number,
it's doubtful VW would have introduced it only on the Bus and
used the earlier accordion style on the Beetles and Ghias.
Though we're still verifying it, most likely the early style was
used on Buses through 1960 and when the new bubbly style boot
was started on the Beetles, Ghias and Buses got them too. |
